The title of this post is in homage to Nora Jane's Aunt Katie. Many years ago, when Katie was 8 or 9 years old we went to Cape Code for a summer vacation. On this vacation Katie got a sweatshirt that said "Outta' My Way I'm Going to the Beach", which she wore more than once a week for the rest of the school year. So Katie, this one's for you. This weekend (on the 4th of July no less) the weather was finally nice enough to take Nora Jane to the beach in Brewster. The beach that her Daddy grew up going to that is (almost) across the street from his parents house. Nora Jane was initially unsure about the sand - the idea of crawling on something that moves every time you put your hand down seemed a little scary. Once she realized she could eat the sand we seemed to be fine.
We took a lot of pictures, which I'll add tomorrow, but this one can serve as a place holder.

it said "GET out of my way i'm going to the beach." it was a complete sentence. it wasn't so trashy "outta my way" - it was classy. Get out of my way. And it was turqoise. And I wore it often enough that in music class Bunny Stevens would sing it as our warm up.
We've GOTTA get Nora Jane one of those shirts.
