ALOHA Part II: Hawaiian Style Adventures

In addition to the beach there were plenty of other things Nora Jane enjoyed about her Hawaiian adventure. The one thing we failed to capture on film were the chickens. If you have ever been to Kauai then you know that the island is over run with chickens and roosters. You will be woken up by these roosters almost every day. You can even find them at the beach. Nora Jane loved them, she chased them, she learned to differentiate between chickens and roosters and best of all she learned to say cock-a-doodle-doo, which she shortens to "cock a doo!!!". Here are some pictures of her other vacation favorites.

Pineapple - the kid loves it and ate it out of all of our drinks. At least we think she likes pineapple (and not the remnants of rum based drinks that soaked most of them.)

Hammocks - there were a couple near the pool. Nora Jane kept asking for swings and when we finally realized what she was talking about she loved it.

Ice cream (daddy's) and root beer float (mommy's). And benches the kid loves benches, but that is not new - we happily found lots of them in Hawaii.

Finally, here she is chit-chatting away the sunny day with mommy. The chatting is also not new, but Nora Jane has really come into her own lately conversation wise. She can tell us pretty much everything she wants and needs and she learns multiple new words a day. Some new words for this trip: pineapple, hula, aloha, cock-a-doodle doo, rooster, sand toys and countless others - basically she repeats everything she hears these days.

You would not believe how much she reminded me of her Auntie Katie on this trip. From her hair, to her love of the water and of course I'd love to find a similar picture of you chatting with mom because I think that one exists.
